Gold experienced a rare plunge yesterday, with a single-day drop of more than 6%, the largest single-day drop since 2013. So why did it plummet? Where will this wave fall? Is the bull market still there? Where can I get on the bus again? Let me tell you my point of view.
First of all, from a technical perspective, gold has been rising for nine consecutive weeks, with an overall cumulative increase of more than 1,100 US dollars. After rising to 4,380 for the second time yesterday, it peaked at a small level, leading to a collective profit-making sell-off in the market.
Secondly, the risk aversion sentiment has cooled down. In the past two days, European leaders have jointly stated their support for the ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine through negotiations. In the past four years or so, the main factor driving the rise of gold has been the geopolitical situation. After gold has continuously risen by more than 1,100 US dollars, the market will be very sensitive. As mentioned yesterday, the slightest disturbance or the emergence of factors that are not conducive to the rise of gold will trigger a chain reaction. There will be large-scale adjustments.
Of course, there is also the rise of the US dollar index, the RSI has entered the deep overbought zone, a double top reversal pattern has appeared in four hours, and so on.
