Basic news
On Wednesday (February 11), the U.S. dollar index continued to be under pressure and is currently near 96.65; the spot gold price is around $5,050 per ounce. On this trading day, investors will focus on U.S. non-farm employment, which is bound to trigger major market movements.
U.S. retail sales were unexpectedly flat in December on Tuesday, raising concerns that consumer spending and the overall economy are already on track to slow growth heading into the new year.
The weakening economic outlook has strengthened expectations for interest rate cuts. Markets are currently betting that the Fed will cut interest rates at least twice this year, by 25 basis points each time.
At 21:30 Beijing time on Wednesday, investors will receive the U.S. non-farm payrolls report for January. Economists expect the U.S. to add 70,000 jobs in January, up from 50,000 in December. The U.S. unemployment rate is expected to remain unchanged at 4.4% in January.
ING Group said: "The market on average expects that the number of U.S. jobs will increase by about 70,000 in January, but the market will be more sensitive to results that are less than expected."
The market is worried that Wednesday's employment data may not be as expected. Hassett, chairman of the White House's National Economic Council, previously said there was "no need to panic" about lower employment growth.

Gold
The price of gold is difficult to break through 5,100 US dollars per ounce. The gold price needs to continue to break through this level to further rise towards 5,300-5,500 US dollars per ounce. Otherwise, gold prices may still fall towards $4800-4700 per ounce.
U.S. Dollar Index
The U.S. Dollar Index hit 96.60lows, then recovered slightly. As long as it remains below 97.50, the U.S. dollar index may fall further to 96.00-95.50 in the next few trading days. U.S. non-farm payrolls, unemployment rate and average hourly earnings data will be released today.
EUR/USD

Affected by the strength of the yen, the decline of EUR/JPY continued. The short-term support level is around 183. If this support level can be held, the EUR/JPY pair is expected to rise again. Overall, the EUR/JPY decline may continue to fluctuate within the 187.50-182.50 range in the short term.
USD/JPY
USD/JPY is retreating, in line with our view, and may soon test short-term support near 153, and may even fall to 152 before rebounding.
USD/CNY
USD/CNY is slowly moving lower and may test our target level of 6.90-6.85 in the medium term.
AUD/USD
AUD/USD has indeed broken through 0.71 and, if sustained, may test the 0.7150-0.7200 level before reaching a peak.
GBP/USD
GBP/USD once hit a high of 1.3696 and then fell back. The pair needs to hold above 1.365 to move toward 1.38 and beyond. Otherwise, if the decline continues, the support level near 1.355-1.350 may face a test before a rebound occurs.
