9月25日，週四亞市盤中，現貨黃金交投於3740.71美元/盎司附近，金價週三因美元走強而回落，投資者靜待本週晚些時候將公佈的經濟數據，以尋找有關美聯儲政策路徑的進一步線索；美原油交投於64.71美元/桶附近，油價週三攀升近2%，觸及七週最高，美國上周原油庫存意外下降，加之伊拉克、委內瑞拉和俄羅斯出口遇阻，市場對供應趨緊的擔憂加劇。
道富證券（StateStreet）駐波士頓的高級全球市場策略師MarvinLoh表示，"美元兌大多數十國集團（G10）貨幣匯率普遍略顯堅挺，但仍處於波動和區間震蕩之中。根據我們的資金流動和持倉數據，美元在中長期投資大戶團體中仍然處於明顯低配狀態，因此我認為它正處於一個整固期，而這正是目前正在發生的情況。"

競選執政黨自民黨下任總裁的候選人周三回答了記者的提問。領跑者之一、以財政和貨幣政策鴿派聞名的高市早苗（SanaeTakaichi）表示，貨幣政策由日本央行決定，但更高的利率可能會影響抵押貸款利率和企業投資。
亞洲市場
日本央行7月的會議紀要顯示，政策制定者之間關於是否需要將利率提高到中性水平的爭論日益激烈。一位成員認為，在物價上漲和產出缺口接近於零的情況下，日本央行“盡可能將政策利率恢復到中性水平”是合適的。
另一位委員警告不要“過於謹慎”，稱央行不應錯過加息的機會，尤其是在股市對最近的美日貿易協議做出積極反應的情況下。其他幾家公司也贊同這一觀點，認為如果關稅對經濟造成的拖累有限，那麼在年底前再次加息是可行的。

歐洲市場
英國央行貨幣政策委員會成員梅根·格林在隔夜的一次講話中表示，英國通脹在發達國家中仍然是一個異常值，總體CPI連續四年多高於目標，並在過去一年再次上升。她指出，通貨緊縮集中在對利率敏感的行業，這表明“大部分通貨緊縮可能已經過去”，而勞動力市場的疲軟已經出現。
格林認為，該數據具有“不利供應衝擊的標誌”，但表示，隨著勞動力市場的放鬆，第二輪工資效應不太可能構成重大風險。她補充說，雖然貿易風險持續存在，但已經有所緩解，預計GDP增長將反彈，而就業機會不會急劇惡化。

德國9月份的Ifo商業景氣指數從88.9降至87.8，當前形勢指數從86.4下滑至85.7，預期指數從91.4降至89.7。該研究所表示，復甦前景“遭遇挫折”。
按行業劃分，疲軟是廣泛的。製造業信心進一步下降，企業報告訂單疲軟，資本貨物生產商的樂觀情緒減弱。服務業受到的打擊最為嚴重，暴跌至-3.0，為2月份以來的最低水平，因為預期變得更加悲觀。貿易情緒也惡化，而建築業則提供了罕見的亮點，並略有改善。
